Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, union minister Shashi Tharoor's wife, found dead at Leela Hotel in Delhi

Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, wife of union minister Shashi 

Tharoor, has been found dead at the five-star Leela Hotel in 

Delhi, two days after she said she was deeply disturbed by 

an alleged affair her husband was having with a Pakistani 

journalist.




Earlier that day, in a series of tweets, she accused the 

Pakistani reporter of "stalking" the minister.

Mr Tharoor allegedly informed the police of his wife's 

death, reported the Press Trust of India. Sources say they 

suspect she died of poisoning and a suicide note has not 

been found.




Mr Tharoor tweeted this evening that he would not attend 

the Jaipur Literary Festival because his wife was unwell.




Yesterday, the couple issued a statement which said they 

are "happily married" and intend to stay that away."  




The statement said that Mrs Tharoor was unwell and 

sought privacy from the media.




The Tharoors were married in 2010.

Mr Tharoor had to resign from his first ministerial post in 

2010 after allegations that Sunanda had been given a free 

stake in the Kerala team in the money-spinning Indian 

Premier League (IPL).
